Living Veda™ grows from the work of seers and scholars who reopened the Veda as a source of inner discovery, rigorous thought and life-changing possibility.
1878—1973
At the heart of this edition’s theme, The Mother is Shakti: the Divine Consciousness whose action transforms mind, life and body. In Puducherry, she worked with Sri Aurobindo towards supramental transformation, giving lived force to the movement from Shruti to Shakti.

1872—1950
Yogi, poet, philosopher and nationalist, Sri Aurobindo evolved Integral Yoga: a path in which spiritual realisation is brought into life itself. His writings on the Veda opened a modern approach to its psychological and spiritual meaning.

A Sanskrit scholar, poet and spiritual adept, Sri Kapali Sastry extended Sri Aurobindo’s work through luminous commentaries on the Veda and Upanishads. His writings unite scholarship, mantra and lived spiritual experience.

A teacher, author and long-time secretary to The Mother at Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Sri M. P. Pandit brought the depth of Integral Yoga and India’s spiritual heritage to a wide contemporary readership.
